According to the regulations of the Ministry of Communications of China, a private person needs to apply for the maritime procedures such as Certificate of Ownership, Ship Survey Certificate (seaworthiness Certificate), Certificate of Nationality, Ship Visa Book and so on to the territorial maritime department. The procedures are as follows: 1.
Apply to the provincial maritime administration for the name of the vessel.
2.
Submit the certificate of origin, purchase and sale contract, handover certificate and purchase invoice of the yacht manufacture. Customs certificate shall be provided at the same time for the import of the yacht, and apply to the territorial maritime ship administration department for the Certificate of Ownership.
3.
Submit the product quality certificate, specifications and equipment information, AS-built drawings and other documents to the maritime inspection authority to apply for Ship Inspection Certificate and Seaworthiness Certificate.
4.
Apply to the maritime ship administration department for the Nationality Certificate by the Certificate of Ownership and the Certificate of Ship Survey.
5.
Conduct annual review and ship safety inspection regularly in accordance with the provisions of each certificate.
6.
If the yacht wants to leave the registered port to go to another place, it needs to carry the “Ship Visa Book” to the maritime supervision department for visa procedures.
The change of policy and regulations shall be subject to the latest notice of the local maritime Bureau.
