Boeing announced that its business jets had received an order from an undisclosed customer for a 777-300ER, which would be the world’s most expensive when delivered.
So?
The 777-300ER is a wide-body twin-engine aircraft made by Boeing that can seat 278 to 550 passengers and has a range of 9,400 to 17,455 kilometers. It weighs 19 percent less and produces 22 percent less carbon dioxide than other similar aircraft.
The 777-300ER (77W) is a long-range version of the 777-300 in the B-type market to replace the 747-400.
On July 21, 2011, Air China introduced the first Boeing 777-300ER aircraft in the mainland.
Features of the 777 include three pairs of landing wheels on each side of the main landing gear, a fully rounded fuselage section, and a knife-shaped tail.
The 777 is also Boeing’s first plane designed entirely with computers.
Instead of using paper drawings, the design process uses a set of three-dimensional computer-aided design software called CATIA.
The software ALLOWS A VIRTUAL 777 TO BE “BUILT” IN ADVANCE, ALLOWING ENGINEERS TO DETECT ANY CONFLICTS EARLY AND ASSESS WHETHER thousands of PARTS FIT PROPERLY BEFORE MAKING a mocK-UP.
